Xindi Wei

Xindi Wei has a background in philosophy and journalism. Having moved from China to the UK at the age of 13, she is particularly interested in stories that explore identity, culture, and the experiences of East and Southeast Asian communities. As a former news reporter, she believes some of the most meaningful stories are those of ordinary people whose voices are often overlooked. Whether through articles or films, she is ultimately interested in the same thing: giving people the space to tell their own stories. Through her contributions to Resonate Voices, she hopes to celebrate the diversity of ESEA experiences and foster greater understanding through storytelling. Today, she works as a documentary filmmaker, collaborating with brands and organisations to tell authentic, human-centred stories through film. In her free time, she enjoys ballet and is always on the lookout for stories that connect people across cultures.
