BTS leader RM has recast the cast of Friends as his fellow Kpop members.

With the Friends reunion special just around the corner – 27 May – BTS has been listed as one of the guest stars who will feature.

Since the announcement, a 2017 BTS interview for Elle Magazine has resurfaced in which lead singer and rapper RM was asked to choose which of the Kpop group’s members would play each character on Friends.

For Joey, RM chose Jungkook. Jin would play Ross and V would play Phoebe. For himself, RM chose Monica but he expressed difficulty in deciding who would play Rachel.

RM also expressed a fondness for Chandler. “I’ve always admired his sense of humor. But I can’t choose a bandmate like him,” he said.

On Twitter, British producer Ben Winston, who directed the Friends reunion episode, revealed BTS would have a small role to play.

“I want to manage your expectations on this – it’s a really short moment from BTS. They are great of course, but they are one of the interviews, talking briefly about why they like friends,” he said.

Other special guests of the reunion include David Beckham, Lady Gaga, Cara Delevingne, Mindy Kaling, James Corden, Kit Harington, Malala Yousafzai, and Justin Bieber, among others.
