Fresh Off the Boat star Hudson Yang has shared a video of the moment he got into Harvard University.

In a post on Instagram, Yang showed a video of himself reading an acceptance email from the Ivy League school for the very first time.

“Congratulations! I’m glad to inform you that the committee has admitted you to the Harvard class of 2025 under the Early Action program!” the 17-year-old reads out loud. “Welcome to Harvard! Oh my god! Oh my god!”

“My mom’s crying!” he says before getting up and her. “Oh my god!…I’m so proud and so happy and so shocked…I’m shaking.”

Yang captioned his emotional video, “Screaming and crying. Thank you God, mom and dad. #Harvard2025.”

Many sent their congratulations in the comment section.

Kim’s Convenience star Simu Liu replied, “My dude I am so proud of how far you have come. Congrats on being the ultimate beacon of Asian excellence!!!”

In August, Yang warned fellow young actors about the unfairness of the acting business.

Last year, Harvard was accused of discriminating against Asian American applicants. However, the court ruled in favour of the Ivy League school.

Recently, an Asian businessman paid $1.5 million in bribes to get his two sons into Harvard University.

In other news, University of British Columbia (UBC) has apologised for sending a “yellow privilege” document to students.
