A Chinese man has been detained for 15 days after violently attacking a 7-year-old boy in Sichuan.

According to Asia Times, a 21-year-old man has been detained for 15 days for violently attacking a 7-year-old boy on a bus in Sichuan.

At 11am on 27 April, the young boy named Guo was returning home by himself on a bus in Suining in Sichuan. In a CCTV video clip, the boy is seen joyfully playing around, lightly kicking a sitting man three times for fun.

The man, also named Guo, grabbed the boy, threw him over his shoulder and stomped on his head three times. 7-year-old Guo was hospitalised, suffering injuries to the left side of his face. Fortunately, no bones were broken.

Other passengers, who called the police, are seen intervening. Guo was fined 1,000 yuan and detained for 15 days.

The man said he had offered the young boy his seat but the boy ignored him. He apologised to the boy and his family and said he would pay for his medical expenses.

Young Guo’s mother described the boy as well behaved whilst his father said he would sue the attacker.
