The internet is officially losing its mind. In what might be the most unexpected crossover event of the summer, three of HYBE’s absolute powerhouse girl groups have joined forces. KATSEYE, LE SSERAFIM, and ILLIT have entered the chat together with a massive collaborative single called “ICONIC BY MISTAKE.”

While the official audio tracks hit streaming platforms on Friday, 12 June 2026, the groups treated fans by pre-releasing the music video online, and it is a beautifully chaotic masterpiece. Directed by Cody Critcheloe, the mind behind KATSEYE’s hyper-viral “Gnarly” visuals, the video panned past one million views on YouTube within its first two hours.

Instead of playing it safe, the video throws all fourteen members into a series of wild, dystopian scenarios. Viewers are treated to a rapid-fire sequence of truck crashes, electrical explosions, rolling fog, a creepy dentist office, and some casual grave robbing. In one of the most talked-about moments online, Daniela from KATSEYE flashes a custom set of diamond grillz spelling out the word “ICONIC.”

Clapping Back at the Online Trolls

Beyond the cinematic budget and the high-octane stunts, the track serves a very specific purpose. “ICONIC BY MISTAKE” is a direct, unfiltered response to online criticism and digital harassment. The groups turn internet toxicity into fuel, using a massive, heavy pop hook to tell their haters that typing away on a keyboard only pushes their streaming numbers higher.

The lyrics do not mince words, calling out the trolls who spend their entire day tracking the groups’ every move. It is a defiant statement of resilience, proving that these women are completely bulletproof to the algorithms of social media. The three groups are scheduled to bring this energy to the stage on Thursday evening with a live debut performance on Mnet’s M Countdown.

This cross-border linkup brings together three completely distinct musical formats. You have LE SSERAFIM, the source music giants who dominated the spring charts with their album Pureflow Pt. 1. Then you have ILLIT, the fourth-generation breakout stars from Belift Lab whose debut track “Magnetic” practically took over TikTok last year. Rounding out the trio is KATSEYE, the global group formed with Geffen Records who recently swept all three of their nominations at the American Music Awards, including New Artist of the Year.

Catching the Groups Live on Tour

If watching the music video on repeat is not enough, you can actually catch these artists live on the road very soon. KATSEYE and LE SSERAFIM are both preparing to launch massive international tours this autumn. KATSEYE will support their upcoming third EP, Wild, with an extensive run across the UK, Europe, North America, and Mexico starting this September, including headline slots at major summer festivals.

LE SSERAFIM will bring their PUREFLOW tour to the UK and Europe, locking in a massive headline show at London’s O2 Arena on 16 October. While ILLIT’s immediate UK dates are unconfirmed, British fans can catch their performances at KCON later this summer. Tickets for all scheduled dates are currently on sale, and based on the reaction to this single, they are going to clear out fast.
