Kelly Marie Tran, Benedict Wong, and Jimmy O. Yang to Star in ‘Rock Springs’ Horror Film

Kelly Marie Tran, Benedict Wong, and Jimmy O. Yang are set to lead the upcoming horror film Rock Springs, directed by Vera Miao.  The film, which marks Miao’s feature directorial debut,  tells the story of a family grappling with loss and a terrifying discovery in a small Wyoming town, according to Variety.

“A grieving young girl, along with her mother and grandmother, move to Rock Springs, Wyo. after the death of her father, only to discover there is something monstrous hidden in the town’s history and the woods behind their new house,” reveals the official logline.

Tran, known for her roles in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon, joins Wong (Doctor Strange, The Martian) and Yang (Silicon Valley, Space Force) in a cast that also includes  Aria Kim and Fiona Fu.  Miao, who previously wrote for the Prime Video series Expats,  also co-wrote and co-starred in the apocalyptic film Best Friends Forever.

Gold House is on board to co-finance the project and will serve as executive producers, providing crucial cultural consultation.
