‘Wo Ai Ni’: Emma Raducanu sends ‘thank you’ message in Mandarin to Chinese fans

Emma Raducanu has thanked her Chinese fans in Mandarin after winning the US Open.

“Hi, everyone.” Raducanu said on video message. “I wanna say thank you to you guys and I hope you could enjoy my tennis. I’m thrilled to win. Love you all, see you.”

The clip shared by China state media CGTN has been viewed over 1.3 million times.

Raducanu, who’s mother is Chinese and father is Romanian, was born in Toronto but grew up in the UK.

The 18-year-old beat teenage rival Leylah Fernandez in the final 6-4 6-3 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, while Britain was celebrating Raducanu’s win, Hong Kong teenager Coleman Wong Chak-lam also made history at the US Open.
