"All of it makes me sick... the whole system is corrupt"
Billboard reports that Kpop singer Jay Park has donated $10,000 to Black Lives Matter.
Cities across US are being rocked by protests following the murder of African American man George Floyd by police officer Derek Chauvin.
In response, Park expressed his support for justice campaigns such as Black Lives Matters.
In a lengthy post on Instagram, Park wrote how he was fed up with the reoccurrence of incidents towards black people.
“Sick of making post’s like this and sick of the same shit happening over and over again,” Park wrote.
“Me being inspired by black culture aside me having black homies aside just as a man and a human being.. to think how helpless he felt and how inhumane he was treated… to think what if that was my dad, or uncle or homie makes me sick to my stomach.”
Park went on to blame institutional flaws that result in people in positions of power not doing anything.
“Police Departments and Ppl in position of power not doing anything to provoke change.. all of it makes me sick… the whole system is corrupt… and nobody wants to admit it cause they are all afraid of taking responsibility for countless years of unjust inhumane treatment,” the Korean American wrote.
On Twitter, Park revealed that he donated $10,000 to Black Lives Matter in the hope that “truth prevails.”
In related news, Dallas Police Department were spammed with Kpop clips after asking people to share “videos of illegal activity” from the Black Lives Matter protests.
Additionally, Chauvin’s Asian wife filed for divorce on the same day he was charged for the murder of Floyd.
Asians in Minnesota are also being targeted for Tou Thao’s involvement in Floyd’s murder.
Meanwhile, musician AJ Rafael is calling for Asian Americans to “do better” in calling out injustices following the death of George Floyd.
