Jeremy Lin considers playing in Asia with his brother

SCMP reports that Jeremy Lin is considering playing in Asia to join his younger brother Joseph.

During a visit to Taiwan, Lin told Taiwanese media that he has been considering playing in Asia for five years.

“About five years ago, I began to consider whether I should play basketball in Asia, because every year when I visit the region I see so many fans, and they make me want to play a few seasons in the region,” Lin said. “I would consider it. And of course, my greatest dream is to play on the same team as my younger brother.”

The Chinese American basketball star was born in LA to Taiwanese parents who immigrated to the US in the 1970s.

Joseph Lin, Jeremy’s younger brother, plays for the Fubon Braves in Taiwan’s Super Basketball League. The Braves won the league this season one month before the Toronto Raptors made Lin the first Asian American NBA Champion.

“You know, sometimes when you join this team or that team, to play under certain conditions, such as under a particular coach, you may find that you’re not very happy in that environment,” he said. “I want to avoid that.”
Lin is in Taiwan as part of his annual Asia tour.

Lin is currently a free agent having left the Raptors.

In other news, Lin paid homage to his Chinese culture by wearing a vintage Toronto Raptors jersey with Chinese characters for the team’s celebratory parade.
