A Chinese sex robot company is mass producing ‘transgender’ dolls to meet an increasing demand.

According to Sputnik and The Daily Star Chinese sex robot company DS Doll, based in Dalian, has mass produced ‘transgender’ dolls.

The company hopes to break stereotypes by manufacturing items to appeal to a wide range of customers with different demands.

“We want to bring sex doll products into the forefront of the market and get around the prudishness and the thinking that they are just made for men“, says Sam, a representative of the firm’s flagship reseller in Europe and the UK, Cloud Climax said. “We have male and transgender dolls too — a lot of our customers are female and a lot are couples as well.”

Since its establishment in 2010, DS Doll produces around 400 custom models per month. Premium range models cost between $4,080 and $4,503.

Sex dolls with male and female genitals are particularly popular according to the representative. Most DS Dolls have fixed genitals but customers are able to buy “penis and vagina attachments”.

“We produce transgender dolls as we sell penis and vagina attachments separately which fit all of the DS Dolls”, he added. “You can in theory mix and match genitals as most DS Dolls do not have fixed genitalia.”

However, not everyone is keen on the idea. The Daily Star adds that Dr Jane Hamlin, president of the Beaumont Society, a UK-based transgender support group, was less than impressed.

”I do not think these dolls will do anything to enhance people’s respect for the courage that trans people demonstrate in just living their lives every day”, she said.

Nonetheless, Sam hopes that Cloud Climax’s dolls will benefit society widely.

“At Cloud Climax we also want to take away the seediness and shock that is usually associated with more unusual sex toys and help to promote normalcy for these products,” he said. “Why should a doll not be considered a normal sex toy, like a Fleshlight? It is effectively the same thing on a larger scale after all.”
