Aquaman director James Wan confirms Randall Park as key character

James Wan has confirmed that Fresh Off The Boat actor Randall Park will play a key character in the upcoming DC film Aquaman.

Screenrant reports that Aquaman director James Wan has revealed Randall Park has joined his cast.

The Fresh Off The Boat star will play Dr Stephen Shin, a friend of Aquaman’s father Tom Curry. Shin helped Aquaman AKA Arthur Curry learn about his powers but when Curry held the location of Atlantis to him, Shin tried to kill him. However, Shin also helped Aquaman when villain the Trench attacked.

Wan made the revelation on Twitter, writing, “So happy and fortunate to be finally working with this man, , on pickups. .”

Aquaman returns after appearing in DC’s Justice League in 2017, and will be released around Christmas later this year. According to Screenrant, the film has already tested very well.

Park’s role as Dr Shin was added during reshoots – scenes that are added to the original shoot to augment the the film.

Comic book fans will also see the Fresh Off The Boat star in Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man & The Wasp, which will be released on 6 July 2018.

In other news, Randall Park has also been confirmed to star Seth Rogen, Charlize Theron and Alexander Skarsgard in Jonathan Levine’s new film Flarsky.
