Sky Yang’s steady rise through the film industry has taken another major leap forward. Paramount Pictures has chosen the young actor to play Sam Masur, one of the central protagonists in the feature film adaptation of Gabrielle Zevin’s acclaimed novel Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow.

Yang will star opposite Daisy Edgar-Jones, who plays his lifelong creative partner Sadie Green, and Sean Kaufman, who joins the cast as his college roommate Marx Watanabe. Directed and written by CODA filmmaker Siân Heder, the project charts three decades of professional ambition, creative partnership, and personal loss within the burgeoning video game industry of the late 1990s and early 2000s.

A Rapidly Growing Filmography

For readers following casting updates across major studios, Yang’s selection confirms his status as one of the most sought-after young actors working today. He first gained widespread notice for his leading performance in Justin Lin’s indie drama Last Days, which premiered to positive reviews at the Sundance Film Festival.

His early screen credits include a prominent role in Zack Snyder’s epic feature Rebel Moon and an appearance in the ITV series Holding. Yang has since accumulated an impressive list of upcoming projects across a variety of cinematic genres.

He recently wrapped production on the horror feature Whistle and completed filming on director Midi Z’s Taiwanese drama The Exiles alongside Sam Worthington. You will also see him opposite Eliza Scanlen in Corinna Faith’s Unspeakable, as well as in Paul Greengrass’s historical drama The Uprising, where he shares the screen with Andrew Garfield, Jamie Bell, and Tom Hollander.

Translating A Publishing Phenomenon

In Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, Yang assumes responsibility for a character beloved by millions of readers worldwide. Zevin’s novel, published in 2022, has sold over four million copies globally in forty foreign language territories, spending more than a year on the New York Times Best Sellers list.

The story follows Sam and Sadie as they build an independent gaming studio called Unfair Games. Their working dynamic examines the deep emotional connection and inevitable heartbreak that accompanies artistic collaboration, showing how two people find a specific intimacy in digital worlds that often escapes them in their private lives.

Siân Heder is directing the feature using script drafts developed alongside Mark Bomback and Zevin herself, who remains attached as an executive producer. Temple Hill producers Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, and Isaac Klausner are managing the physical production. Paramount has scheduled the worldwide theatrical release for 12 November 2027.
