Netflix has officially released the first trailer for its upcoming Korean romantic comedy, Boyfriend on Demand. The series stars Blackpink member Jisoo and actor Seo In-guk in a story that explores the thin line between digital fantasy and real-life romance.

Jisoo plays Seo Mi-rae, a webtoon producer who is completely burnt out by her career. With no time for a social life, she signs up for a futuristic, subscription-based virtual dating service. The app allows her to go on dream dates in digital worlds, from private beaches to historic palaces, all with partners designed to be her “ideal type.”

One of the big draws for the 10-episode series is its massive guest cast. To represent Mi-rae’s various virtual boyfriends, the show features special appearances from some of the biggest names in Hallyu.

The lineup includes Seo Kang-jun, Lee Soo-hyuk, Lee Jae-wook, Ong Seong-wu, and Jay Park. Each actor brings a different romantic vibe to the simulation, giving viewers a “vicarious experience” of many different types of romance in one series.

While Mi-rae is busy dating virtual heartthrobs, her real life is complicated by Park Kyeong-nam, played by Seo In-guk. Kyeong-nam is a capable but cold colleague who Mi-rae initially finds uncomfortable to be around.

The trailer hints at a slow-burn connection between the two as they become “overtime work buddies.” As Mi-rae’s feelings for her real-life rival grow, she begins to wonder if a perfectly curated digital partner can actually compete with a messy, real-world connection.

Global Release Date

Boyfriend on Demand premieres globally on March 6, 2026. This marks a busy season for Blackpink fans, as the group is also set to release their highly anticipated new mini-album, DEADLINE, on February 27.

The series is directed by Kim Jung-sik, known for Work Later, Drink Now, and written by Namgung Do-young. It was originally planned for a traditional TV broadcast but was later picked up by Netflix as a global original.
