Actor Kim Ji-hoon has been honored with the Best Acting Award in the OTT Category at the 2025 Seoul International Film Awards.
The ceremony was held on December 10 at Hanra Hall in Dragon City Hotel, Yongsan, Seoul. Kim received the recognition for his performance in the Amazon Prime series Butterfly, reaffirming his remarkable presence on both local and global screens.
Now in its 13th year, the Seoul International Film Awards celebrates excellence across global film and OTT productions released between August 2024 and November 2025.
In Butterfly, Kim Ji-hoon made his Hollywood debut as Gun, a ruthless but complex assassin. His commanding visuals, immersive action sequences, and emotionally layered performance earned widespread praise. Critics commended his ability to balance cold precision with a deep emotional core, describing his performance as a “fresh revelation.”
After accepting the award, Kim expressed his gratitude, saying, “I sincerely thank you for this meaningful award. I will take this as a call to create an even greater impact and move forward with greater responsibility.” He continued, “This moment is truly an honor and a great source of strength. I will strive to be a more diligent actor who works even harder.”
Since debuting in 2002 with the drama Loving You, Kim Ji-hoon has built a reputation as a versatile performer, celebrated for his chilling portrayal of a serial killer in The Flower of Evil. He further expanded his range through roles in Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area, Love to Love, Ballerina, and Lee Jae, About to Die.
2025 has seen Kim’s career reach new heights. Beyond Butterfly, he has appeared in the SBS weekend drama Return, the Netflix variety show Crime Scene Zero, the Netflix series Genie, Make a Wish, the TVING original Dear X, and the currently airing tvN Monday-Tuesday drama Nice to Not Meet You. His versatility across drama and variety formats continues to solidify his standing as one of Korea’s most dependable actors.
