BLACKPINK’s Rosé has just hit a major new milestone. Her hit collaborative single with Bruno Mars,  ‘APT.’, has officially surpassed 2 billion views on YouTube, setting a new record. According to her agency, The Black Label, the music video hit the massive number just 335 days after its release on October 18, 2024, making it the fastest K-pop video to reach this mark.

This latest achievement cements Rosé’s place in K-pop history. She’s now the first K-pop artist to have a music video hit 2 billion views both as a solo artist and as part of a group. She had previously reached the same milestone with BLACKPINK’s videos for Ddu-du Ddu-du and Kill This Love.

‘APT.’, a track from Rosé’s first full-length album, rosie, has been a global sensation, dominating music charts in South Korea and abroad since its release. The song’s success has also led to other major accolades, including a win for Song of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 7.

Fans Demand the Demo

But the  ‘APT.’ excitement isn’t slowing down. Fans have been reacting to a recently revealed demo version of the song, praising its more mature-sounding lyrics and its different musical feel. Many have even said they prefer the demo version to the official release with Bruno Mars. Now, fans are urging Rosé to officially release the demo, either as a special single or as part of a deluxe version of her album.

‘APT.’ is also currently in consideration for a Grammy nomination, which would add another accolade to the song’s already impressive list of achievements.
