Fans of BLACPINK are finally getting some concrete news about the group’s next album.YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk has confirmed that the K-pop stars are aiming to release a new EP by November “at the latest.” This will be the group’s first EP since 2019’s ‘Kill This Love,’ and their first collection of new material since the 2022 album ‘Born Pink.’

The announcement came in a ‘YG Announcement’ video on YouTube, which provided updates on other label acts like TREASURE and BABYMONSTER.

An Album in the Works

Yang addressed the high anticipation from fans directly, saying, “A lot of fans are curious about BLACKPINK’s album. I know that the BLACKPINK members and producers in charge of them are working very hard preparing the album. I’m hoping for BLACKPINK’s album to be out by November, at the latest. That’s what I’m pushing for – we’ll do our best to get BLACKPINK’s album out soon.”

The news follows a brief hiatus for the group, during which members Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo, and Lisa embarked on successful solo careers. They recently reunited to launch their ‘Deadline’ world tour, which has been playing to sold-out arenas across Europe and the UK, including two shows at London’s Wembley Stadium. The tour is set to continue in Asia through October and December.

Solo Triumphs and a Viral Hit

Since their last studio album, the members have been busy with individual projects. Rosé, in particular, has had a banner year, recently expressing shock after receiving eight nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). Her hit collaboration with Bruno Mars, “APT.” is up for several major awards, including Video of the Year and Song of the Year. Rosé’s solo track, “Toxic Til the End,” also earned a nod for Best K-pop.

Reacting to the VMA news on her Instagram Stories, Rosé said, “So I’ve just heard that I’ve received eight VMA nominations. I am beyond shocked and I just don’t know what to say. I’m absolutely speechless! This is a crazy day! Whoa! It’s really, really wild! What’s happening?!”

The group’s recent single, “Jump,” was co-produced by Diplo and marked their first new music in a while. Their sold-out ‘Born Pink World Tour’ in 2022 and 2023 was a record-breaker, becoming the highest-grossing tour by a girl group and drawing over 1.8 million fans.

As they continue their global tour, Blackpink’s new album will undoubtedly be one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
