Netflix’s animated powerhouse KPop Demon Hunters isn’t content with topping the TV charts; its soundtrack has just made a massive impact on the music world, debuting in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart. This is a huge win, as it’s the first soundtrack of 2025 to achieve a Top 10 Billboard 200 entry, proving the film’s global musical force.

Billboard announced on June 29 that the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack landed at No. 8 on its Top 200 Albums chart, which tracks the most popular albums in the United States. This is a massive feat, especially since the soundtrack hasn’t even had a physical CD release yet – it’s all about those digital purchases and streams!

Streaming Stats Are Wild

According to Luminate (formerly Nielsen Music), the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack pulled in a total of 31,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 26. This impressive tally included 3,000 traditional album sales (digital downloads only, since there’s no physical disc yet!), and a whopping 27,000 streaming equivalent album (SEA) units. That translates to an incredible 37.48 million on-demand audio streams in just one week! The album also earned 1,000 track equivalent album (TEA) units.

But the chart domination doesn’t stop at Billboard. The songs from the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack are also crushing it on actual music streaming charts worldwide, even beating out real K-pop groups! Tracks from the film became the highest charting K-pop songs on the Global Spotify chart.

The fictional girl group Huntrix’s song Golden raked in 3.45 million streams, while rival group Saja Boyz’s Your Idol hit 3.01 million. Both tracks also debuted high on South Korea’s YouTube Music chart, hitting No. 14 and No. 13 respectively, and charting on major Korean streaming services like Bugs, Genie, and Flo.

Soundtrack MVPs

Out of the top eight K-pop songs on the Global Spotify chart, all were from the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack, with just one exception: aespa’s new single Dirty Work. That’s some serious musical firepower!

The soundtrack’s authenticity comes from its impressive lineup of top K-pop producers, including Teddy, Lindgren (who worked on BTS’s Boy With Luv and TWICE’s I CAN’T STOP ME), and Jenna Andrews (known for BTS’s Dynamite and Butter). It also features an original song by TWICE members Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung, plus TWICE’s latest Korean title track, Strategy.
