Simu Liu, known for his role in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is set to voice the Dad in Netflix’s upcoming animated feature, In Your Dreams. The film, a comedy adventure about siblings navigating the surreal landscape of their dreams, features a star-studded voice cast including Cristin Milioti and Craig Robinson.

The film revolves around siblings Stevie and Elliot, who embark on a journey through their own dream world in search of the Sandman. Their goal? To fix their family, naturally. But, as with any dream, things get weird. They’ll face a talking giraffe, zombie breakfast foods, and the Queen of Nightmares.

Alex Woo, who directs alongside Erik Benson, seems pretty stoked about the cast. “What I didn’t expect was how memorable and emotional the performances were going to be,” he said. And, honestly, with Milioti, Liu, and Robinson on board, you can see why.

Milioti, who voices Mom, gets high praise from Woo. “You believe every performance Cristin gives and that’s every director’s dream come true,” he notes. Liu, playing Dad, was “absolutely moved” by the script, which is always a good sign. And Robinson, as the talking giraffe Baloney Tony, is “so excited to dust off my favorite toy.”

Jolie Hoang-Rappaport and Elias Janssen, who voice Stevie and Elliot, respectively, are the “heart and soul” of the film, according to Woo. The story, co-written by Woo and Benson, promises a mix of humor and heart, with John Debney handling the music.

In Your Dreams hits Netflix this fall, so get ready for a surreal family adventure.
