Actor Stephen Oyoung, currently starring in Twisters, is the latest addition to the ensemble cast of Mission: Impossible 8.

Oyoung joins returning stars Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, and Ving Rhames, along with a host of new faces including Hannah Waddingham, Nick Offerman, and Holt McCallany.

The film, a direct follow-up to last summer’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, will see Tom Cruise reprise his role as IMF agent Ethan Hunt. Plot details remain tightly under wraps, as does Oyoung’s role.

Director Christopher McQuarrie, returning to helm the latest instalment, has previously stated his ambition for the film to be “like an adventure film.” Shea Whigham, who is reprising his role as Jasper Briggs, has hinted at the film’s scale, stating: “What he’s doing now, people are going to be floored.”

Mission: Impossible 8 is currently filming and is slated for release in May 2025, following delays caused by last year’s SAG-AFTRA strikes.

Oyoung, known for his roles in Sicario and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, is also a renowned fight coordinator, having trained Keanu Reeves, Denzel Washington, and Adam Driver for their respective action roles.
