Asian American state lawmaker Yuh-Line Niou has been Zoom-bombed by a group of racist white supremacists.

The New York assemblywoman had held a virtual volunteer organising event Monday when the incident occurred.

“They started to show pornography that had racial epithets written on it,” Niou said. “They started to call me names, an ‘Asian chink whore’ was the one that was loudly said.”

Illapa Sairitupac, who is also running for state Assembly and was present at the meeting, added that the racists wrote “explicit sexual language that implied sexual violence.”

“No matter what your politics are, it is unacceptable to stoop this low.”

“There was antisemitic attacks, anti-Asian attacks, homophobic attacks,” Niou added.

The Lower Manhattan Democratic assemblywoman is now running for state Senate against incumbent Brian Kavanagh.

Sadly, racist Zoom-bombing political meetings is not an uncommon occurrence.

“I received a message from the people that help run [Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’] events, and other lawmakers of color, and they say it happens almost every event that someone’s trying to hack in,” Niou said.
