Marvel’s Korean American heroine ‘Silk’ from Spider-Man comics to get her own live-action TV series.

According to Variety, Sony is developing the series that focuses on the Asian superhero AKA Cindy Moon.

Originally created by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos, Moon is Peter Parker’s classmate who is also bitten by a radioactive spider at the same time as Parker.

Moon gains similar abilities to Parker and is able to shoot webs from her fingertips. She also possess an eidetic memory and has Silk Sense – an advanced Spider-Sense.

Tiffany Espensen played the character in the 2017 film Spider-Man: Homecoming but it is unclear whether she will reprise the role for the series.

Lauren Moon is in talks to write the series whilst Phil Lord and Chris Miler are executive producing.

In 2018, it was revealed that Sony was also developing a Silk standalone film.
