Tigertail director Alan Yang has produced a new PSA advert to combat Coronavirus racism towards Asian Americans.

Produced in partnership with nonprofit Ad Council, the 1-minute ad features Asian Americans who share their experiences with racism.

“A passenger told me that I should go back to China,” said one person.

“I’ve had strangers cough at me,” said another.

“Someone spit three times towards my direction. I felt so violated,” one person shared.

Each participant removes their masks towards the end of the clip as they say they are “not a virus”.

Over 800 hate incidents were reported by Asian Americans in California during the Coronavirus pandemic.

In related news, 31% of Asian Americans were subjected to Coronavirus racism amid the pandemic.
