Deadline reports that the casts of Kim’s Convenience and Fresh Off The Boat are uniting to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

In partnership with Seed&Spark, the casts of both shows will present an online table read of their pilots from their respective shows.

The virtual one-night only special event is set for May 30 at 6pm PT/9pm ET. Funds will raised from the event for Asian non-profit arts organizations in the U.S. and Canada including East West Players, L.A. Asian Pacific Film Festival Visual Communications and Reel Asian.

Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Jean Yoon, Simu Liu, Andrea Bang, Andrew Phung and Nicole Power will appear for the Kim’s Convenience read.

Randall Park, Constance Wu, Hudson Yang, Forrest Wheeler and Ian Chen will feature for the Fresh Off the Boat table read.

The Kim’s Convenience read will feature first, followed by the Fresh Off The Boat read. A joint Q&A with both casts held separately on Zoom for viewers who donated at least $10 to the fundraising campaign.

Last month it was revealed that season 5 of Kim’s Convenience will be delayed due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

In related news, a special 8-hour streaming event featuring Sung Kang and Jeremy Lin will be held to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month on 30 May.
