ABC reports that Asian Americans are most likely to watch streaming services for television viewing.

A survey titled ‘Engaging Asian American Consumers at the Dawn of a New Decade‘ was produced by Nielsen showed that the ethnic group consume more digital content than others.

Compared to the rate of the total US population, Asian Americans are turning to internet viewing instead of live TV at a rate of nearly double.

82% of Asian Americans subscribe to at least one streaming service compared to 72% of the total country’s population.

Nielsen suggests that a reason behind the demographic’s interest in online media is that streaming services such as Netflix offer more representation.

Additionally, Asian Americans are 14% more likely to own gaming consoles compared to the rest of Americans.

Spending among the ethnic group is expected to reach $1.3 trillion in 2022 after passing $1 trillion in 2019.

In related news, a report by the Human Rights Watch has shown that Coronavirus is fuelling anti-Asian hate.
