Vulture reports that Always Be My Maybe star Ali Wong will return to Netflix with two new stand-up specials.

Wong’s new comedy specials will air sometime in 2020, following her first two specials 2016’s Baby Cobra and 2018’s Hard Knock Wife.

HBO had also bid for Wong, offering her a scripted series on HBO Max as well as a stand-up special. The network offered her $10 million for the stand-up special alone.

Netflix’s offer was reportedly “in the eight figures”.

A couple of months ago, Wong said she “hated getting asked what it’s like being an Asian American woman in Hollywood”.
