A female reboot of Rush Hour is in the works, with Li Bingbing potentially taking on the lead character.

That Hashtag Show reports that a Rush Hour female reboot is in the works in a similar vein to Ghostbusters and Ocean’s 8.

It has been over 12 years since the last Rush Hour film – Rush Hour 3 – and we have since been eagerly waiting a follow-up. Earlier this month, fans were rejoicing after Chris Tucker confirmed that Rush Hour 4 is now in the works with Jackie Chan.

Now, it seems that STX Studios is developing a female-centric cast Rush Hour film as well. Not much is known about the film at the moment other than The Meg co-star Li Bingbing has reportedly been offered a lead role.

The 46-year-old Chinese actress also appeared in Resident Evil: Retribution and Transformers: Age of Extinction.
