A separate Star Wars series starring Kelly Marie Tran as Rose Tico is being considered by Disney.

As reported by CBR, Disney is considering a Star Wars series starring Kelly Marie Tran as Rose Tico. The news comes as Disney is reportedly planning several Star Wars shows for its upcoming streaming service.

Star Wars series The Mandalorian and a spinoff for Rogue One’s Cassian Andor has already been confirmed for the upcoming Disney+ series, but new rumours suggest other spinoff series may be on its way.

A prequel series featuring a young Princess Leia is reportedly on the cards, as well as a series about Sith Lord Darth Bane. First Order’s Captain Phasma and Kylo Ren’s Knights of Ren are also contenders for their own series.

Whilst not much is known about what mechanic Rose Tico’s own series could be about, we are hoping it would reveal more of her past.

Disney+ streaming service is available later this year.

In other news, Star Wars Episode IX, which will feature Tran’s character,  has just finished filming.

Last year, Tran deleted her Instagram posts after receiving “months of harassment” online. The 29-year-old actress had remained silent on the issue until last week, when she wrote a piece for The New York Times titled ‘I Won’t Be Marginalized by Online Harassment’.

“It wasn’t their words, it’s that I started to believe them,” Tran wrote.
