It has been confirmed that Kelly Marie Tran will return in the next Star Wars film.

Kelly Marie Tran is set to return in the ninth episode of the Star Wars cannon according to Inverse.

Lucasfilm revealed the cast for JJ Abrams’ next space epic on Friday, confirming that Tran will revive her role as Rose Tico.

Filming begins on 1 August in London’s Pinewood Studios, with the film expected to be released in December 2019.

In June, Tran deleted her Instagram after “months of harassment” from internet trolls. Online hate group and Star Wars fandom organisation ‘Give Us Legends’ took credit for driving Tran off social media.

Star Wars co-star and series veteran Mark Hamill offered his support for Tran with the hashtag #getalifenerds.
