Lucy Liu has responded to Awkwafina’s shoutout on SNL.
Awkwafina has received a response from Lucy Liu for her SNL shoutout.
The Crazy Rich Asians star hosted Saturday Night Live with Seth Meyers on 6 October. During the show, Awkwafina noted that SNL did not have an Asian American host since Lucy Liu in 2000.
In a monologue, Awkwafina paid tribute to Liu, thanking her “for opening the door” for Asian American women.
Liu has since responded to Awkwafina via Instagram. In a post, Liu shared a photo of Awkwafina with the caption, “Thank you gorgeous @Awkwafinafor the epic @nbcsnl shoutout and performance. Shine on Fellow Warrior! 🙏”
