Singapore Canadian magician Shin Lim has won the 13th season of America’s Got Talent.

As reported by USA Today, Canadian-born Shin Lim has won America’s Got Talent Season 13.

The 26-year-old magician defeated the nine other finalists in Wednesday’s two-hour season finale, winning the $1 million prize and the headline spot for AGT’s November show in Las Vegas.

Heralded as one of the world’s greatest close-up magicians, Lim is the son of Singaporean emigrants. According to the Straits Times, Lim and his family moved back to Singapore when he was two years old. He lived there until he was 11 when his family moved to Acton, Massachusetts.

Other AGT finalists included singer Glennis Grace, comedian Vicki Barbolak, singer Daniel Emmet, trapeze artists Duo Transcend and singer Courtney Hadwin.

Runner-up dance group Zurcaroh lifted Lim as soon as host Tyra Banks announced him as the winner.  “Thank you so much, everyone,” Lim said as the credits rolled. “I love you all so much.”

Reflecting on the moment, Lim added “for me, the whole thing was kind of like a dream. When Tyra announced my name, I went into a state of shock.”
