Lena Waithe said she bought out an entire theatre for people to watch Crazy Rich Asians.

As reported by the Huffington PostReady Player One star Lena Waithe bought an entire theatre to ensure people would watch Crazy Rich Asians in the cinema.

Waithe, who is also a writer for Aziz Ansari’s Master Of None, attended the Crazy Rich Asians premiere in LA last week.

She then tweeted that the film is “just as important as Black Panther” and told those with Asian tattoos to “buy a ticket just out of respect.

“Go see this film this weekend! It’s just as important as #BlackPanther & #WrinkleInTime,” Waithe tweeted. “Let’s do it for the culture. *and if you got an Asian tattoo you should buy a ticket just out of respect. I’m looking at you Wu Tang Clan!!!”

Crazy Rich Asians director Jon M Chu responded, “Hahahahaha classic. Thank you @LenaWaithe love you.”

Although she did not reveal the location of the cinema, Waithe then revealed that she bought out an entire theatre for the film. “Congrats !!” she responded to Chu’s tweet. “My lady and I were at the premiere and had the time of our lives! Me and my team bought out a theater today.”

“🙏🙏🙏I am such a huge fan and have SO MUCH respect for what you’ve achieved in this crazy town,” Chu replied. “Such an inspiration and for you to support this movie means the world to me. Thank you for buying out a theater!!! You’re the real deal. Much love.”
