Star Wars: The Last Jedi actress Kelly Marie Tran has deleted her Instagram posts after months of harassment.

As reported by VoxStar Wars: The Last Jedi actress Kelly Marie Tran has deleted all of her Instagram posts following “months of harassment”.

Tran is known for playing lead character Rose in the latest instalment in the Star Wars cannon. The Vietnamese-American actress had said playing the role was an “honor and responsibility to represent” and it was the first time her parents had actually supported her.

In one (now deleted) post Tran wrote, “I avoided social media for a long time purely because I was afraid. I was terrified of being picked apart, of being scrutinized, of being seen… I’m an incomplete, imperfect, broken mess, and I’m here to say that it’s OKAY to be imperfect.”

Tran’s Instagram account has since been wiped. Twitter account Star Wars Facts has said Tran deleted her posts due to “months of harassment” from supposed Star Wars fans.

Although Tran has not explicitly confirmed the reason why her Instagram posts were deleted, evidence of harassment surfaced on Star Wars wiki ‘Wookieepedia’ last December.

“Ching Chong Wing Tong is a dumbass fucking character Disney made and is a stupid, retarded, and autistic love interest for Finn,” read one entry. “She better die in the coma because she is a dumbass bitch.”

On a birthday post for Tran on Instagram, fans allegedly called her “Ching Chong”.
