John Cena will replace Sylvester Stallone in the upcoming Jackie Chan film Project X.

As reported by Variety, WWE star John Cena will replace Sylvester Stallone in Jackie Chan‘s upcoming film Project X.

Originally titled Ex-Baghdad, the film is set on an oil refinery in the Middle East, which has come under attack. Cena’s ex-Marine character, which was originally pinned for Stallone, teams up with Chan’s private security contractor to safely extract workers from the site.

It has not been revealed why Stallone exited the project.

Chan will produce the film with Need for Speed director Scott Waugh, Joe Tam, Esmond Ren, and Hans Canosa.

Last month, Chan’s daughter Etta Ng claimed she was now homeless due to their “homophobic parents”.
