AAPI Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has said that he would not rule out running for President of the United States.

Ronald Reagan and newly elected Donald Trump have proven that being a celebrity can actually get you into the White House. Additionally, with former WWE Chief Executive Linda McMahon now serving in President Trump’s cabinet, Johnson might actually have an edge.

Speaking about running for presidency in the next election, Johnson said, “I wouldn’t rule it out. It would be a great opportunity to help people, so it’s possible. This past election shows that anything can happen.”

Johnson, AKA The Rock is listed as Forbes highest paid actor in the world and recently became the first AAPI to be crowned the Sexiest Man Alive by People Magazine.

Whilst Johnson has not been too vocal about his politics, he is a known registered Republican.

In July, The Rock received support for his possible candidacy. He responded on Good Morning America by saying, “As time goes on, [I will] take the temperature of the American people,”

“If it is a very real, overwhelming, positive, strong, ‘We want you to run for president’, and I felt that I can step up to the place and become a tremendous leader for our country, and make a real difference and make change, I would do it.”
