Kevin Feige has confirmed that Shang-Chi will be in MCU’s Phase 4

Cinema Blend reports Kevin Feige has confirmed that Shang-Chi will be in the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Although some expected Avengers: Endgame to tie up MCU Phase 3, it has been confirmed that Spider-Man: Far From Home will be the final film of the phase.

At a press tour for the latest Avengers film in Shanghai, the Marvel Studios president was asked of there was going to be a Chinese superhero in the MCU.

Feige replied, “this is not an Endgame question, this is a question about the future. I’m not supposed to answer questions about the future but in this case, I will because the answer is yes.”

Shang-Chi, AKA Master of Kung Fu, is a Marvel Comics character created in 1972 who eventually joins the Avengers. The character had his own series that ran for 125 issues and had a love interest with Deadpool’s ex, Domino.

Destin Daniel Cretton will direct the film but little else is known about the project.

When news broke of a Marvel potentially creating their first Asian superhero film, Chinese netizens reportedly thought the idea was “racist”.
