The long-running anime phenomenon is heading back to the big screen in the United Kingdom. Trinity CineAsia has confirmed that Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway will hit UK cinemas on 12 June 2026.
This film marks the 29th theatrical instalment in the massive mystery series. The property shows zero signs of slowing down, having crossed the 10 billion yen mark annually for four straight years in Japan.

When the movie opened in Japan on 10 April 2026, it rolled out across an unprecedented 526 screens. That release represents the widest theatrical footprint in the history of the franchise.
The strategy paid off immediately. The film pulled in 3.5 billion yen (around $22 million USD) during its first weekend. That performance secured the number one spot in Japan and pushed the movie to number three globally for that weekend, a feat achieved through a single market alone.

The plot kicks off when Conan Edogawa and his usual crew travel to Kanagawa for a motorcycle festival. During the trip, a rogue black motorbike leaps directly over their car at high speed. Chihaya Hagiwara, a traffic officer known locally as the “Goddess of the Wind,” leads a relentless pursuit but the rider manages to slip away.
Things get complicated at the festival venue when the police department unveils a high-tech patrol bike named “Angel.” Shortly after, the mysterious black bike resurfaces in Tokyo, prompting the police to dub the copycat vehicle “Lucifer.” As the investigation deepens, Hagiwara faces ties to her late brother, Kenji Hagiwara, and his former colleague Jinpei Matsuda, drawing on the popular Police Academy lore from the franchise.
Takahiro Hasui, who previously worked on Mob Psycho 100 III, directs the project. The script comes from Takahiro Okura, who penned the previous movie, Detective Conan: The Million-dollar Pentagram.
Yugo Kanno, the composer behind the music of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Psycho-Pass, handles the score. The regular voice cast returns alongside live-action guest stars Ryusei Yokohama and Mei Hata.
Trinity CineAsia managing director Cedric Behrel noted that the franchise shares a strong spiritual link with British culture through its nods to Sherlock Holmes. Following positive UK responses to recent theatrical releases, the distributor plans to run interactive case-solving promotional events to tie into the June launch.
You can find the movie playing in select theaters across the country very soon. Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway is coming to cinemas to UK on 12 June 2026.
