Chase Yi is stepping into the spotlight in a major way, landing a lead role in the next installment of the Paranormal Activity franchise—a priority project for Paramount Pictures and Blumhouse Atomic Monster.
While plot and character details remain tightly under wraps, Yi’s casting signals a fresh chapter for the long-running found-footage series, which continues to evolve nearly two decades after its breakout debut. The upcoming film is set to be directed by Ian Tuason, the Canadian filmmaker behind A24’s Undertone, and is slated for a May 21, 2027 release.
Yi, an Asian-American actor, writer, filmmaker, and musician, was born on May 24, 1992, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Now based in Los Angeles, he graduated from UCLA with a degree in Poetry and is also the co-founder of Doyen Artists, a film production company focused on narrative and commercial work. Known for his recent appearance on Apple TV+’s Mythic Quest, Yi has steadily built a versatile portfolio across television, with credits including High Potential, The Rehearsal, and Hacks. This new role marks a significant step forward, placing him at the center of one of horror’s most commercially successful franchises.
