Sung Kang is stepping deeper into the world of gaming and car culture with a new collaboration alongside Xbox, just days before the release of Forza Horizon 6.
Working with Japanese-American lifestyle brand UPRISERS LAB and Zipangu — the first large-scale J-pop festival set to take place in Los Angeles — Kang has co-created a limited capsule of Japanese denim racing jackets that blend gaming, craftsmanship, and cultural storytelling.
The drop centers on two distinct designs, both constructed from upcycled Japanese selvedge denim and built to feel “broken-in from day one.” Each piece features custom laser-etched visuals layering cherry blossoms, Mount Fuji, and Japanese performance cars — a clear nod to the game’s Japan setting.
One version, the Zipangu x Forza Horizon 6 Edition, leans into function and visibility. Reflective silver taping runs along the seams, catching light in darker environments, while the interior houses a full Forza Horizon 6 lining and a dedicated controller pocket. Even the zipper pull doubles as a collectible keychain, adding a subtle detail for fans.

Kang’s own edition takes things further. Limited to just six pieces, the Sung Kang x Forza Horizon 6 jacket introduces hand-sewn 3D cherry blossom appliqués alongside sashiko-style patches etched with game iconography and Japanese drift references. The interior is packed with personality — featuring a mechanic pocket, controller pocket, and even a “snack pocket.”
Most notably, the jacket integrates rechargeable LED tape threaded through the seams, designed to echo Tokyo’s neon-lit streets. Activated by a single switch, it transforms the piece into something closer to wearable tech than traditional streetwear.
The collaboration arrives as part of a broader cultural push tied to the game’s launch. Set against the backdrop of Zipangu — a festival celebrating Japan’s “Way of Music” — the project brings together music, fashion, and gaming into a single creative ecosystem.

“Forza Horizon 6 is a celebration of Japan – its landscapes, its energy and its cultural influence,” said Aaron Greenberg – Vice President of Games Marketing. “Working with Zipangu, UPRISERS LAB and Sung Kang, allows us to translate that inspiration into something tangible, connecting fans to the world of the game in a more expressive, real-world way.”
UPRISERS LAB, which designed and produced the collection, framed the project as an extension of its ethos around longevity and storytelling through design.
“At UPRISERS LAB, it’s never just about making a jacket — it’s about designing to extend the life of material and memory. We’re proud to bring that intentionality into a space as global as Forza Horizon 6,” said Michelle K. Hanabusa, Founder & Creative Director, UPRISERS LAB.
For Kang, the collaboration reflects a personal intersection of identity, cars, and craft — themes that also connect to his upcoming film, Drifter. “I’ve always believed the things we build should tell a story, not just about where we’re going, but where we come from,” said Sung Kang.
“This project brings together everything I love — cars, culture and craftsmanship. It’s something that moves with you, whether you’re on the road or stepping into another world.”
Fans won’t be able to buy the jackets outright — instead, they’ll need a bit of luck. Xbox is giving away ten Zipangu editions and one Sung Kang edition via Instagram, with entries open through the official sweepstakes post using the hashtag #SungKangFH6Sweepstakes. Attendees at the Zipangu festival will also have a chance to win on-site.

“Zipangu is about creating cultural connection through music, community and shared experience,” said Ellen Lu, Vice President of Regional Festivals, Goldenvoice. “This collaboration reflects that vision – bringing together sound, style and storytelling in a way that resonates across cultures.”
The collaboration lands just ahead of Forza Horizon 6’s global launch on May 19. Set in Japan and featuring over 550 cars, the latest installment promises the franchise’s largest open-world driving experience yet, arriving on Xbox, PC, and cloud — with a PlayStation 5 release slated for later in 2026.
More than just a promotional drop, the capsule positions Forza Horizon 6 as a cultural project — one that extends beyond the screen and into fashion, music, and identity.
