A new exhibition opens in Plymouth this week. Titled In Between, the show features work from artists of East Asian backgrounds. It explores themes of intimacy, gender, and personal experience within modern cultural frameworks. The exhibition runs from April 24 to May 3 at the gallery space located at 37 Looe Street in the Barbican
Exhibition Themes and Featured Artists
Curator Oliver Li brings together a collection of photography, illustration, and image-based works. The artists examine the pressures of navigating multiple cultures and the struggle to feel seen in either. Instead of offering one perspective, the show creates a platform for several voices to discuss resilience and self-definition.
The exhibition features contributions from Bo Fan, Oliver Li, Sean Yang, Yifei Xiang, Yulong Li, and a duo project by Zoe Cui and Nandal Seo. Scarlett Yang also presents her full Her Feast series. This includes a large-scale piece printed on fabric that measures over two metres in length.

Opening Event and Workshop Details
The gallery hosts an opening night event on April 24. You can visit the space between 6 pm and 9 pm to view the works and meet the people involved. If you want to learn more about the creative process, the organisers scheduled an artist-led workshop for the following day, April 25, from 12 pm to 1:30 pm.
