Lucy Liu has officially joined the cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2006 fashion-world hit. Liu, known for her iconic roles in Kill Bill and Charlie’s Angels, is among several new additions to the film, which will see Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci all reprising their beloved roles.
Liu is joined by other newcomers, including Justin Theroux (The Leftovers), B.J. Novak (The Office), and Pauline Chalamet (The Sex Lives of College Girls). Broadway stars Helen J. Shen (Maybe Happy Ending) and Conrad Ricamora (Oh, Mary!), along with comedian Caleb Hearon, are also slated to appear. While specific character details for these new additions remain under wraps, their presence promises fresh dynamics at Runway magazine.
The sequel picks up Miranda Priestly’s (Streep) story as she contends with the evolving landscape of traditional magazine publishing. She will face off against Emily (Blunt), her former assistant who has become a high-powered executive at a luxury fashion group. Emily’s control over crucial advertising dollars will be key to Runway’s survival, setting up a sharp conflict between the two formidable women.

David Frankel, who directed the original 2006 film, is back at the helm for the sequel, along with screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna and producer Karen Rosenfelt. Based on Lauren Weisberger’s novel, The Devil Wears Prada follows aspiring journalist Andy Sachs (Hathaway) as she navigates the demanding world under Priestly. The first film was a critical and commercial success, earning $326 million worldwide and an Oscar nomination for Streep.
