Buffy the Vampire Slayer is returning to our screens in a reboot from Hulu, with Sarah Michelle Gellar reprising her iconic role. And if that wasn’t enough to get your blood pumping, the pilot episode will be directed by none other than Oscar-winning director Chloe Zhao (Nomadland, Eternals).

Details about the project are still under wraps, but sources suggest that the reboot will focus on a new slayer, with Gellar appearing in a recurring role. The series is being written and executive produced by Nora and Lilla Zuckerman (Poker Face), with Zhao also serving as an executive producer under her Book of Shadows production banner.

This news is sure to excite fans of the original series, which ran for seven seasons from 1997 to 2003. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a critical and commercial success, and is still considered one of the greatest television shows of all time.
