Lisa, of the globally popular K-pop group Blackpink and star of the current season of The White Lotus, will perform at the 97th Academy Awards.  She joins a star-studded lineup that includes Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Doja Cat, Queen Latifah, and Raye.  The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences made the announcement on Monday.

The specifics of Lisa’s performance, as well as those of the other musical guests, remain undisclosed.  “Three global superstars. One epic #Oscars moment. Doja Cat, LISA of Blackpink, and RAYE take the stage for a showstopping celebration of cinema,” teased the official Oscars account.

This appearance follows Lisa’s acting debut in the third season of HBO’s The White Lotus, which premiered on February 16th.  In the series, she plays Thidapon ‘Mook’ Sornsin, marking a significant step in her career beyond music.

The Thai K-pop idol was interviewed by Variety while at the premiere held at Paramount Studios in Hollywood on February 10, where Lisa shared the anxiety she felt being on a set for the first time.

“It is my first acting [experience] so I don’t know what to expect on set, but everybody just being so supportive helped me a lot. So thank you, everyone,” she told the outlet, before recalling her rocky first day filming for the series. “I’m so nervous. I was sweating. I was like, ‘I can’t remember my lines.’ I’m blanked.”
