The John Wick universe is expanding once again with Lionsgate Television developing a new sequel series. Titled John Wick: Under the High Table, the series will begin immediately after the events of John Wick: Chapter 4. While still in the early stages, the studio is currently seeking a network or streaming service for distribution.

The official announcement hints at a shift in power dynamics, stating, “John Wick has left the world of the High Table in a tenuous position and a collection of new characters will look to make a name for themselves while some of the franchise stalwart characters remain committed to the old-world order. The series will combine new and old and thrust the Wick universe into a new age.”

This exciting project is spearheaded by the original film team, with Chad Stahelski set to direct the pilot and serve as executive producer through his company 87Eleven Entertainment, along with Keanu Reeves, Basil Iwanyk, and Erica Lee from Thunder Road. Robert Levine, known for The Old Man and Black Sails, will write and showrun the series.

Reeves is on board as an executive producer for the series but whether he will reprise the role of the titular character remains to be seen. John Wick: Chapter 4 saw Wick’s apparent death and a tombstone bearing his name.

Lionsgate’s deal with Stahelski, granting him creative oversight of the franchise across all multimedia platforms, highlights their commitment to the John Wick brand.
