Known for showcasing the best of indie film projects, The Sundance Film Festival played host to the premiere of Sean Wang’s 2024 movie, Didi.

Now set for a wider release on 26 July exclusively in US movie theatres, Didi caught the attention of industry critics in January this year at the festival.

Described as “a tender, specific rendering of adolescence on the early internet” by the Guardian and a “winning and well-acted Asian American coming-of-age drama” by The Hollywood Reporter, Didi has earned a 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Didi’s plot centres on a 13-year-old Tawainese American boy played by Izaac Wang (Raya and the Last Dragon, Clifford the Big Red Dog) who learns skills his family struggle to teach him including, skating, flirting, and loving your mother.
