Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings opened over Labor Day weekend and brought in $71.4 million.

Marvel’s first all Asian cast blockbuster is set to total $83.5 million by the end of the four-day holiday, smashing estimates of $45 million.

The figure makes Shang-Chi the second best pandemic opener just behind Black Widow’s $80.4 million and ahead of F9’s $70 million.

At $71.4 million, Shang-Chi also smashed 2007’s Halloween Labor Day record, which pulled in $30.6 million. Labor Day openings traditionally have sluggish box office performance.
