Steven Yeun might be the first Asian American to be nominated for a Best Actor Oscar.

Variety reports that the Korean American actor is campaiging for his role in Minari.

Yeun’s co-star Yeri Han is also campaigning for Best Actress. Alan S. Kim, Will Patton and Yuh-Jung Youn are also hoping to be considered for supporting categories.

The Walking Dead star would be the first Asian American to ever be recognized in the category.

Additionally, if any Minari actors receive a nomination, it will be the first time the Oscars has nominated any Koreans in the acting category.

Minari tells the story of a Korean American family who moves into an Arkansas farm in search of the American Dream. Yeun plays the father of the household, Jacob.

The film won audience awards at Sundance and Middleburg film festivals.
