An elderly Asian mother was hospitalised in a violent racist attack in San Francisco.

Thanh Nguyen posted about his mother’s incident on Instagram, which occurred on 22 September.

“Last week on September 22nd, my mom was attacked in San Francisco by some random punk,” Nguyen wrote.

Nguyen described how his brother was helping their mother carry groceries when a thug attacked her.

“My brother was carrying groceries and heard two thuds and saw my mom unconscious on the floor, my brother saw the guy run down Market and chased him down the block towards Market street,” Nguyen said.

The attacker then tried to escape but Nguyen’s brother chased him.

“The guy tried hopping onto the K train on Market to escape, but my brother chased him off the train and down Market street towards Embarcadero,” he said.

However, a group of men were waiting around the corner and and attacked his brother.

“As they were running this scum ran into a group of guys just hanging at the corner; and when he approached one of the guys sucker punched him almost knocking him out,” Nguyen said.

“He was able to pull himself together and run back to my mom as she was getting on the ambulence because he isn’t stupid enough to just get jumped by 5-8 guys.”

Nguyen then detailed his mother’s injuries.

“After a few days my mom finally came home CONCIOUS, but with fractures on her face, bruises everywhere, body in pain, can’t look up or down, can’t talk normally, her favorite glasses shattered, and our hearts broken,” he said.

“We’ve lived in the same neighborhood for YEARS and never had anything like this happen to us. Even with Covid19 and the racist shit you hear on the news we kept telling her not to go out!”

“Despite that she was comfortable enough to leave the house for appointments and other important matters regardless because we are used to the neighborhood.”

Understandably, Nguyen deplored his mother’s attackers, stating, “for this punk to attack an elderly women, someone’s grandmother, and most importantly MY MOM is totally unacceptable and it ain’t something that i can live with myself to know that I didn’t let her attack be known to others; especially with all these racial attacks especially on the elderly.”

At the time of writing, the attackers have not been identified and Nguyen is seeking CCTV footage and witnesses.

“I’ve contacted Muni and the surrounding places for footage or pictures cause the thing that bothers me most is i don’t know what this punks looks like. Thankfully my brother said he wasn’t wearing a face covering,” he said.

“With all the racist shit happening I want what happen to her counted. And the punk found and get what he deserves.”

Fortunately, his mother is recovering smoothly. “My mom is okay now too and is healing fine,” he said. “Thanks for everyone who reached and supported!”

In other news, a Chinese American woman who was wrongfully jailed for 17 years has been set free after racist emails surfaced from prosecutors.
