The trailer for Float, Pixar’s short film starring Filipino characters, has been released.

Part of Pixar’s experimental storytelling initiative ‘Spark Shorts’, the animated story will be streamed on Disney+ starting 12 November 2019.

Float is directed by Filipino-American filmmaker Bobby Rubio and stars Filipino lead characters.

In the trailer, a man is seen holding his baby, who somehow has the ability to fly. According to IMDb, the father hides his son’s unique ability from the public.

However, when others soon discover the truth about his son, he must decide whether to run and hide or accept his son as who he is.

Eli Fucile, Mika Kubo, Luna Watson and Rubio himself provide the voices behind the characters.

“I am proud to tell our stories. I know what it means to see our culture represented on screen! #RepresentationMatters,” Rubio said.
