John Cho and Keanu Reeves will be featured in Zach Galifianakis’s upcoming film Between Two Ferns: The Movie.

Based on Galifianakis’s 2008 talk show of the same name, the Netflix film will be an expansion of the actor’s interview chat show.

The format of the original series showed Galifianakis interviewing celebrities sitting between two fern trees. Its magic lies in The Hangover star’s deliberate awkward comedic errors.

Between Two Ferns: The Movie once again centres on Galifianakis interviewing celebrities. This time, Will Ferrell also stars as an exec who tells Galafanakis to take his show on the road.

In the trailer, which was released yesterday, Galifanakis is seen interviewing Matthew McConaughey, Benedict Cumberbatch, Brie Larson and John Hamm.

“Of all the things you can win an Oscar for, how surprised are you that you won one for acting?” Galifianakis asks McConaughey.

“I read online that you’re very private and decline to answer questions that make you feel uncomfortable,” Galifianakis says to Larson before asking her, “is that true and how old were you when you got your first period?”

The 49-year-old actor is also seen having difficulty pronouncing Cumberbatch’s name and implies that Hamm is a “hot idiot”.

Other celebrities listed in the trailer include Paul Rudd, Tiffany Haddish, David Letterman, Adam Scott, Chance The Rapper, Rashida Jones, and Tessa Thompson.

The film also stars Peter Dinklage, Paul Rust, Hailee Steinfeld, John Legend, and Chrissy Teigen.

Between Two Ferns: The Movie will be released on Netflix on on 20 September 2019.
