Ken Jeong to star in live-action ‘Tom And Jerry’ movie

Yahoo reports that Crazy Rich Asians star Ken Jeong has been cast in a live-action Tom And Jerry movie.

Based on the classic American cartoon series, the feature-length film will combine live-action and animation.

The original series was created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera who Oscar awards for “Best Animated Short Film” seven times between 1943 and 1953,

Directed by Tim Story, the Warner Bros film will also star Chloe Grace Moretz, Rob Delaney, Colin Jost, Jordan Bolger, and Pallavi Sharda. Michael Pena has also been cast as the villain Terrance.

The plot takes place in a luxury hotel in New York when new employee Kayla (Moretz) faces losing her job if she can’t manage to get rid of Jerry before a wedding. Kayla then hires Tom to help her out.

Nothing else has been revealed about Jeong’s character.

Tom and Jerry will be released in mid-April 2021.
